The Why

Designing user centered experiences has been present throughout my entire life. From hand-writing every holiday card to my customers on my paper route to designing enriching academic programs.

How others feel and interpret an experience is always at the forefront of my mind. When it comes to stakeholders, I always listen first and create second.

In 2020, I pivoted into the world of UX Design in order to work closer in crafting impactful experiences and to bring my multi-disciplinary approach to solving challenging problems.

I appreciate

the grind

and the chance to

learn something new

everyday.

Builder

Forever the student, I've never been one to shy away from a challenge - especially when it comes to going medieval.

Whether learning how to make pottery in Japan, building my PCs since I was in middle school, or building a modern-day trebuchet and experimenting with soccer balls and watermelons, I'm always up excited for trying something new.

Helper

When the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami occurred, I knew that I had to give back to a place that had given so much to me.

I volunteered for 4 1/2 years to create a feature-length documentary and follow-up short-film series, which garnered support from all over the world.

40+ screenings. 4 countries. Recognized and acknowledged by the Japanese Minister for Foreign Affairs in 2016. I worked hard to translate scripts, craft storylines, organize screenings and involve networks both throughout the US and Japan.

Teacher

You're lucky if you've had the joy of a teacher making a positive impact on your life. I'm fortunate to have had a few that stand out - Mr G. in 6th grade who grew my appreciation for history and Professor Chikamatsu at DePaul who helped cultivate my Japanese language skills.

I proudly taught in Japan as an ALT through the JET Program for two years in Shiga Prefecture. I have since been involved in numerous alumni outreach activities as well as worked on multiple international exchange programs between the US and Japan.
